I am originally from New Jersey. I lived in FL for a few years as a child and have lived in Germany and breifly in England. I’ve been to numerous places for vacationing.
I love to travel! I am comfortable in NJ but after a while I want to see what else is going on and how other people live their day-to-day lives. It’s always a learning experience to venture out of your comfort zone.
I may put up some posts about some of my past adventures also.

Currently I am studying Global Communications and Civil Society. It’s a mouthful and the reading and study hours are legnthy.
But, I love Paris and am still getting used to my new life here. With all the hustle and the bustle I sometimes forget that, I moved from NJ to Paris!! That’s amazing to me.

I am looking at applying to grad school here – was that whole process very difficult? I am in Verdun, two hours from Paris!
Hi. Thanks for your comment! Applying to graduate school was easy actually. It was just like any other school with the application process and fees. I applied online and was able to pay my fees online as well.
You should definitely apply. You don’t have much to lose in the application process. Just find which university would best fit your needs. For example, my university’s classes are all in English. I don’t speak French yet.
But since you’re here I’m assuming you speak the language already.

Sounds like great fun. What do you do for money to go from place to place? I met a guy who was from the US and he would travel and do odd jobs for a season and then keep going – he’s seen so much of the world on little money, but then again when you’re young and don’t have any other responsibilities, it’s easy to do. Glad I stopped by. What part of India are you planning to go to?
I had a full time job for years before enrolling in graduate school. That paid for my trips.
As for India, I’m not sure which part we’re going to. I’m taking a class there for a month. There is an extra fee involved for that of course. But student loans should cover it.

I am doing the “mom thing” right now, so don’t get to get away as much as I would like, but maybe one day my traveling will pick up. Doing the “mom thing” is worth it to me though. The real goal is to get my kids to many of the fabulous places of the world.

Belgium is at the top of my list; Brussels and Bruges. How was it? Recommendations?
I loved Belgium. Brussels is a modern city and I felt very welcomed there although all I could say in French was “bonsoir” (goodnight/evening). Of course you have to have a Belgian waffle with some chocolate on it. The chocolate there is amazing!
Bruges is beautiful also. You will have a great time when you go.

It really is quite lovely. I will enjoy as much of it as I can.
Can’t really promise anything, but to me the CouchSurfing concept seems like heaven when it comes to travelling. Dying to try it out 🙂

Having been to Belgium myself recently, I really enjoyed Bruges, but thought that Brussels was actually pretty grubby. Additionally, that a national monument, le piscine, is only 30 cm tall and tucked away on a fountain in the corner of a random st, bazaar. I’d be really interested to hear your thoughts on the European capital?
@harrithomas, Bruge is a more beautiful and quaint city. I thought Brussels was more of a bustling city for people that work a lot. I was also surprised that the monument was so small (lol).
